When Dan first arrived in Austin he went straight to work. Most senators hide in the background when first elected, Dan stood up and wrote a bill to kill the famous "Blocker Bill" and the rest of the senate laughed. He stood up to get an extension on the "business tax" and he fought hard for a special session to repeal this new tax. He is also fighting to create a full time legislator so next time it doesn't take two years to repeal a bad law, and so the senate doesn't have to vote on two years worth of bills in a couple of months.
